LETTING GO: SELF-DEFEATING BEHAVIOR

One of the best things that you can do for your relationships and your career is to let go of your victim mentality. Stop feeling sorry for yourself.

An employer doesn't want someone who constantly dwells on the negative and who talks about everything wrong with their life and how they are mistreated. They want someone who can rise above circumstances and get things done.

No one has a perfect life. I think one of the most freeing and healthy things you can do is to not take everything so personally. Or course it took me several years to realize this.

When I first started out, I took everything personally. Every unhappy customer, every insurance problem, every workflow and effeciency problem - they all bothered me. Now I don't think you should have an "I don't care" attitude. I just think I would have been more successful early on if I hadn't gotten so stressed when we were backed up or taken it so hard if a customer was upset about an insurance problem. People react when they are stressed and upset and the pharmacist is usually the closest person they can lash out at.

Focus us on the things you can control and let go of the things you can't. You will be much happier!
